University Policy on Environmental Health & Safety

Yale University is committed to health, safety and environmental protection in all of its programs and activities. This commitment is congruent with—and important for achieving—Yale’s overall mission of advancing, disseminating, and preserving knowledge, and striving to educate leaders in the service of society.

In collaboration with the University community and its various safety committees, Yale has established a body of environmental health and safety policies and procedures that apply to specific areas and concerns. These policies and procedures provide the details that implement the broader commitment expressed here.

All members of the Yale community (including students, faculty and staff) share responsibility for safety, and shall comply with Yale’s established environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
