Search Advisory Committee for the Dean of Yale Divinity School

As announced in June, Greg Sterling has decided to step down from his role as The Reverend Henry L. Slack Dean of Yale Divinity School (YDS) on June 30, 2027. President Maurie McInnis and Provost Scott Strobel have formed a search advisory committee and engaged a search firm to help them identify potential candidates who can succeed Greg as dean.

To carry out its charge, the committee will solicit input from the YDS community, including key partners and affiliates, as well as the broader university. In the coming months, its members will provide opportunities to engage in meetings, group discussions, and individual conversations. In the meantime, please consider sharing your thoughts with the committee via webform. You are encouraged to submit names of potential candidates or reflect on the qualities and qualifications the committee should consider in its search for the next dean.
