Search Advisory Committee for the Dean of David Geffen School of Drama and Artistic Director of Yale Repertory Theatre

As announced in February, James Bundy decided to step down from his positions as Elizabeth Parker Ware Dean of David Geffen School of Drama at Yale and artistic director of Yale Repertory Theatre on June 30, 2026. President Maurie McInnis and Provost Scott Strobel formed a search advisory committee to help them identify candidates to succeed James as dean and artistic director.

They charged the search advisory committee to solicit input from the David Geffen School of Drama and Yale Rep communities—as well as from the wider university community. The committee provided opportunities to these communities to engage in meetings, group discussions, and individual conversations, and solicited suggestions on potential candidates or the qualities and qualifications that should be considered for the next dean of DGSD and artistic director of Yale Rep.
