Search Advisory Committee for the Dean of David Geffen School of Drama and Artistic Director of Yale Repertory Theatre

As announced in February, James Bundy has decided to step down from his positions as Elizabeth Parker Ware Dean of David Geffen School of Drama at Yale (DGSD) and artistic director of Yale Repertory Theatre (Yale Rep) on June 30, 2026. President Maurie McInnis and Provost Scott Strobel have formed a search advisory committee to help them identify candidates to succeed James as dean of DGSD and artistic director of Yale Rep.

They have charged the search advisory committee to solicit input from the DGSD and Yale Rep communities—as well as from the wider university community. In the coming months, the committee will provide opportunities to these communities to engage in meetings, group discussions, and individual conversations. The committee has also created an online form to receive suggestions on potential candidates or the qualities and qualifications that should be considered for the next dean of DGSD and artistic director of Yale Rep.
