
Tanya has worked at Yale since 2008, first at Yale Press, as Publicist for books on natural history and environmental science, and then at Pierson College where, as Operations Manager, she helped establish new student initiatives between the college and Yale Sustainability, the Yale Sustainable Food Program and the Yale Carbon Charge. Tanya led the initial carbon charge pilot in Pierson College and took on special responsibilities as Carbon Charge Liaison to the Heads of College. She was awarded two Certificates of Outstanding Recognition for her environmental leadership on campus.
Tanya recently completed a second master’s degree, this one in Climate and Society as a member of the inaugural class of Columbia University’s new Climate School. She also holds an MA in modern languages and literature from Freie Universität Berlin. Prior to working at Yale, Tanya worked for the BBC where she managed the corporation’s international publishing program, first in London, and later in New York, bringing productions such as Planet Earth to new audiences around the world. She was raised and educated in Germany and England and, in addition to her native German and English, is fluent in Italian and French. She is a fellow of Pierson College.
