
Monica Vella-Angelastro assumed the role of Senior Project Manager, Science and Research Initiatives in 2021. She provides high-level, wide-ranging, and strategic project management in support of the University’s Science Strategy Initiatives and associated institutes. She has a wealth of experience in project management, program administration, and operational leadership. Currently, she is chiefly responsible for achieving procedural excellence in founding and expanding the Wu Tsai Institute.
Aside from being a Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences alumna, Monica has held several positions at Yale, including as Associate Director for the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs and Quality Improvement Analyst for Yale Shared Services. Most recently, she served as the Director of Academic Operations at the Yale School of Nursing and serves as a Pierson College fellow and first year advisor.
Monica holds a Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Yale and a B.S. in Biology from Iona College, NY. She enjoys the outdoors and spending time traveling with her husband and two children, Jack, and Penelope.
