Erin Heckler joined Yale and assumed the role of Associate Provost for Postdoctoral Affairs in 2021. Erin serves on the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) Group on Graduate Research Education and Training (GREAT) Postdoctorate Leaders Section Steering Committee 2018-2021 and co-chaired the Resource Development Committee of the National Postdoctoral Association 2017-2021. 

Prior to joining Yale, Erin was Director, Office of Postdoctoral Affairs in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research at Washington University in St. Louis. She holds a B.A. in Chemistry from Rutgers University and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Delaware. She completed postdoctoral work at Rutgers University - New Jersey Medical School in enzymology. Erin is a National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN) Entering Mentoring Trained Facilitator and is an author on the 2018 eLife study: “United States National Postdoc Survey results and the interaction of gender, career choice and mentor impact.”
