Senior Associate Provost, Research Compliance and Regulatory Affairs

Crista Brawley is Senior Associate Provost, Research Compliance and Regulatory Affairs. She started at Yale in September 2025, and she has oversight of the HRPP/IRB, IACUC, Research Security, Research Misconduct, research COI, Export Control, and joint oversight of Research Analytics and Research Compliance programs.

Prior to joining Yale, Crista was an Associate Vice President for Research Regulatory and Compliance at Northwestern University in the central Office for Research, overseeing: Export Control and International Compliance, Research Security, IRB, IACUC, IBC, Research Safety, Research Integrity and Misconduct, and research COI. Prior to joining the executive team in the Office for Research at NU, she was the Vice President of Research Operations and Chief Research Administrator at Rush University Medical Center, where she oversaw the entire research mission.

Crista has over 20 years of experience within Research where she began as a basic scientist, transitioned into research and healthcare administration after her postdoctoral training at The University of Chicago, and has become a senior leader in research operations with a focus on regulatory affairs. Crista earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cellular, and Molecular Biology from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is also a certified clinical research professional with the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA).
