Chris provides strategic leadership for the implementation of key science initiatives, including the planning, resourcing, and mobilization of capital projects aligned with research priorities. He works closely with faculty, deans, facilities leaders, and administrative partners to guide scientific program planning, research space strategy, core facility development, and operating models that enable innovative research across the university. Environmental Health and Safety also reports to Chris, and he serves as Planning Section Chief for the Emergency Operations Team, underscoring the connection between research support, laboratory safety, sustainability, and the university’s broader scientific enterprise.

Before joining the Provost’s Office in 2019, Chris served as West Campus Director of Research Operations and focused on modernizing laboratory spaces, establishing shared core resources, supporting faculty research programs, and helping transform West Campus from its earliest stages into a vibrant multidisciplinary research community. He joined Yale in 2002 in the Department of Chemistry.

Chris holds a BS in Chemistry from Lafayette College and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Delaware.
