Chad Losee serves as the Senior Associate Provost for Strategy and Data Analysis. He advises the president, provost, deans, and other university leaders on institutional strategy and data-informed decision-making. He oversees the Office of Strategic Analysis, Office of Institutional Research, and the University Data Office, helping university leaders address strategic challenges while developing the next generation of higher education leaders through fellowship programs within those offices.

As Senior Associate Provost, Losee leads initiatives that advance Yale’s academic mission and long-term institutional goals. He partners with academic and administrative leaders on matters including academic program development, enrollment strategy, student success, affordability, research administration, artificial intelligence, resource allocation, and operational effectiveness. He led the creation of the University Data Office and the recruitment of Yale’s inaugural Chief Data Officer, helping establish a university-wide approach to data strategy and governance. He serves on Yale’s Budget Strategy Committee, Data Strategy Committee, Board of University Health, and Yale College Financial Aid Working Group.

Before joining Yale in 2023, Losee served as Managing Director of MBA Admissions and Financial Aid at Harvard Business School (HBS), where he was responsible for final admissions decisions and a need-based financial aid budget of roughly $50 million. During his tenure, Harvard Business School launched full-tuition scholarships, froze tuition for five years, and expanded outreach programs to increase access and affordability. Earlier in his career, Losee helped found HBS Online and worked as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company, advising corporate and higher education organizations.

Losee holds a Doctor of Education with distinction from the University of Pennsylvania, a MBA with high distinction from Harvard University, and a BA in International Relations, summa cum laude, from Brigham Young University. He joined Yale in 2023 and has written and presented on topics related to higher education strategy, student access and affordability, and institutional effectiveness.
