
Connie Steel, Program Manager Artificial Intelligence Initiatives, advances Yale’s AI strategy for the Office of the Provost by fostering campus-wide initiatives and interdisciplinary collaborations. This strategy includes expanding research infrastructures, delivering secure access to GenAI, and building human expertise and relationships that support research and education. Connie’s previous roles at Yale include programmatic assessment and faculty development for the Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning and the Yale Center for Faith and Culture’s Life Worth Living Initiative. She co-chaired the Poorvu Artificial Intelligence Working Group, convened AI Coffee Talks for Humans, and led Yale Summer Academy’s short course on generative AI for graduate student development.
Connie’s background in program management includes ten years of instructor development and graduate student mentorship for core and writing flag courses at the University of Texas at Austin. She has a BS in International Studies from Drexel University and an MA and PhD in English from the University of Texas at Austin.
