Brendan Woo serves as Senior Project Manager for Strategic Initiatives. In this role, he supports provostial stewardship of institutional resources, with a particular focus on restricted gift funds, and manages special projects on behalf of the Office of the Provost.
Brendan manages the information and processes needed to align new fundraising initiatives, as well as existing restricted funds, with Yale’s academic priorities. He carries out this work in close collaboration with colleagues in the Office of the Provost, the Office of Development, the Office of the General Counsel, and the Controller’s Office. Brendan also assists with policy and process improvement and staffs select committees convened by the provost.
Before joining the Office of the Provost in 2024, Brendan was Director of Learning Operations in the Executive Education department at the Yale School of Management (SOM), where he led the development and implementation of practices focused on business process excellence, data excellence, and university citizenship. In this capacity, he directed the business and administrative operations of the largest non-degree education department at Yale, serving over 7,000 learners per year. Prior to his time at Yale SOM, Brendan served on the staff of the Yale-China Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring Chinese and Americans to learn and serve together. There, he worked in a variety of teaching, recruiting, coaching, development, and strategic roles in New Haven, Hong Kong, and Anhui Province, China.
Brendan is a fellow of Trumbull College. He holds a BA in Linguistics from Yale College and an MA in Organizational Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University.
