Jim Slattery is associate provost for research with responsibilities that include planning and oversight of science-oriented facilities for the provost’s office; limited submissions for the university; 9-over-9 policy; and support of academic initiatives including the Peabody Museum, Yale Institute for Biospheric Studies, and the Yale Quantum Institute.

Jim joined Yale in 2008 and prior to joining the provost’s office in 2013 served as lead administrator and director, Finance and Administration for the Department of Cell Biology, as special assistant to the dean for research cores at the School of Medicine, and as the interim senior director for Faculty of Arts and Sciences and member of the Business Operations Leadership Team (BOLT).  Prior to Yale he worked in the biotech/drug development sector.  His degrees in chemistry are a B.S. from the University of California, Davis, and M.S. and Ph.D. from Cornell University.
