Emily Bakemeier is deputy provost and in addition, she serves as dean of faculty affairs for the Faculty of Arts & Sciences. She has primary responsibility for the Divinity School and is the provostial point of contact for the Schools of Architecture, Art, Drama, and Music. She is a fellow of Pierson College and has been a fellow of the Whitney Humanities Center. She is Yale’s representative to the Consortium on Financing Higher Education (COFHE), and is currently vice chair and programming committee Chair of the COFHE Assembly. Her academic area of expertise is in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century northern European art, particularly early modern French royal portraiture and iconography. She received her A.B. from Dartmouth College and her M.F.A. and Ph.D. from Princeton University.
