Brian Lizotte is the Associate Provost for the Humanities, having joined the Office of the Provost in August 2009. His portfolio includes the Humanities Departments and Programs in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) and the Language Study and Writing Centers. He coordinates the external review of FAS Departments and Programs and edits the Faculty Handbook. Mr. Lizotte joined the Office of the Provost after practicing law in Yale’s Office of General Counsel and at a national law firm. Previously he taught mathematics and psychology at the Groton School in Massachusetts. Mr. Lizotte earned his J.D. from Yale Law School, an Ed.M. from Boston University, and joint B.A. and M.S. degrees in psychology from Yale College, where he was awarded the Alpheus Henry Snow Prize for “inspiring in his classmates an admiration and love for the best traditions of high scholarship.” Mr. Lizotte has published in the field of law and economics. He serves as a Trustee of Greens Farms Academy, a K-12, independent day school in Westport, Connecticut, and as Policy Advisor to the Animal Haven, a shelter and adoption agency serving Greater New Haven.
